One the first issues Arkansas Advocates began working on 40 years ago was juvenile justice. And though there has been some progress, the state’s juvenile justice system still puts the physical safety of juvenile offenders at risk. Recent reports from Disability Rights Arkansas and Arkansas Nonprofit News Network have highlighted these unsafe conditions in the state’s juvenile detention facility in Dermott, Arkansas.
