AACF takes health to school

In talking with school administrators, they tell us that children’s health is important to learning and that schools have some role to play in student health. Many schools have chosen to address student health in a variety of unique ways, and we want to help tell the story of how schools are addressing health and wellness in partnership with the local medical community and other partners.

That’s why AACF, in conjunction with Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s Natural Wonders project, is embarking on a new project dealing with child health and wellness and the role of schools.

Over the next few months, AACF will conduct interviews with school leaders, parents, and medical providers to determine what types of programming related to health would each group would like to see occur in schools. Sarah Argue, a former teacher, recent appointee to the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board and Clinton School of Public Service graduate, will be helping AACF with this research.
