Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families is very proud to announce that Kerri Michael Sernel will be joining the AACF staff as our new outreach director. Sernel will help AACF develop and implement strategies to educate and engage citizens and organizations around issues that are important to children and families in Arkansas.
Prior to joining AACF in 2014, Sernel served as development and marketing director for Just Communities of Arkansas. Her previous experience includes working to create a coordinated community response to domestic violence; grant-writing and program development; and policy advocacy for women and children on the statewide level. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Sernel holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Little Rock with her husband Toby and daughter Lily.
