We all know the ever-increasing expense of health insurance. The new health law provides more promising news for working families in Arkansas: tax credits for thousands of working families to purchase private coverage through the Exchange.
Today, Families USA released estimates from a healthcare research firm outlining exactly what impact these new tax credits will have on Arkansas when credits are available in 2014:
- Over 312,000 low- and middle-income Arkansans will be eligible for new premium tax credits.
- More than $1.3 billion will flow into Arkansas to help these families to pay for health insurance.
The size of these credits for each family will be based in income level, with higher credits for lower-income households.
