Study Circles
Study Circles are small group participatory discussions held in communities where ordinary citizens have opportunities to share their experiences, find common ground, analyze their pressing issues and come up with group resolutions. Study Circles provide opportunities for citizens to build trust, and look at many perspectives of critical public issues as they dialogue. These groups of ten-fifteen people from all segments of the community meet regularly over a period of weeks, in focused discussions to formulate actions plans and establish work groups that will impact the issues they care about. Established in 1990 as a project of the Topsfield Foundation, Study Circles is designed to improve the quality of public life in communities across the United States.
