Arkansas Advocates conducts various meetings, trainings and fundraisers that are held annually. The dates change from year to year so, exact dates, times and other information will be updated on our Events Page.

Upcoming Events

Soup Sunday: Generally held one of the last Sundays in February. In 2011 Soup Sunday celebrated been a major fund raiser for AACF for the past 30 years in Little Rock and 10 years in Springdale. More than 30 local restaurants serve their specialty soups, gumbos and chili each year. The event is kid-friendly and features a live band, silent auction and games for children.

Annual meeting: Held each year in December or January to share our work during the past year with supporters, board members and friends.

Pre Legislative Conference: Held prior to the start of a regular legislative session to discuss potential bills that impact Arkansas children and families. The event is coordinated by the Arkansas Kids Count Coalition.

Kids Count Day at the Capitol: Held each regular session to bring child advocates to the Arkansas Capitol to meet legislators and share information about children's issues. Also coordinated by the Arkansas Kids Count Coalition.

Post Legislative Conference: Held following a legislative session to discuss how the Governor and Legislature responded to concerns outlined by the Kids Count Coalition in the pre-legislative conference.

Advocacy training and regional informational meetings: Held in various parts of the state to train interested people on the various aspects of becoming an advocate and to learn more about children's issues.

Press Conferences, rallies and special events: AACF holds special events and press conferences to release important research and information about Arkansas children and families.
